Inclusive Community

At OSE, we believe that the foundation of sustainable business operation lies in supporting local communities and have consistently focused on four key areas: “Caring for the Disadvantaged,” “Giving Back to Society” “Environmental Protection,” and “Talent Development.” These areas correspond to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serve as specific action guidelines for our corporate social responsibility practices. In 2023 and 2024, OSE did not experience any incidents that had a significant negative impact on the local community.

Promoting Film Aesthetics – Rural Education and Campuses Involvement

To allow children in rural areas to be exposed to film aesthetics and develop film appreciation skills, OSE has partnered with the Kaohsiung Film Archive under the Kaohsiung City Government since 2022 to launch the ‘Film Elective Course’ project. This initiative continues to promote the development of film education in rural and non-urban schools.

Through an annual two-session film education course, the project uses films as a medium to inspire students’ thinking, cultivate their sensitivity to artistic aesthetics, and broaden their perspectives. It provides local children with new opportunities to explore the world of film. In the future, the project will continue to promote corporate social responsibility by combining educational resources to give more rural children the chance to be inspired by films, enriching their learning journey and artistic vision.

In 2024, a film course rooting activity was held at Chenggong Elementary School in Qieding, attracting a total of 89 students.

In 2023, OSE acquired two pieces that won awards in the final selection: the silver award-winning “No.55” and the collection award-winning “Dance of Man and Bird: The Miracle of Technology.” These pieces have added a gentle artistic touch to our sustainable art gallery, deepening the many possibilities for sustainable development.

It featured a circular economy seminar with special guests, Mr. Huang and Mr. Zhong from the Appliance Clinic, who shared practical knowledge and methods for sustainable living. They taught appliance maintenance techniques to help participants extend the lifespan of their appliances, thereby reducing unnecessary resource consumption and waste.

The event collected a total of 19 small appliances, which, after repair and regeneration, reduced approximately 47 kilograms of waste. The community repair service not only restored items but also fostered interaction and connection among community residents, while promoting the importance of reducing resource waste and advocating responsible consumption. We will continue to promote the concept of repair and reuse, working with external partners to advance the promotion and practical implementation of resource recycling.

All donated receipts were sent to the Taiwan Reforestation Association to help promote the long-term restoration of Taiwan’s forests. This event provided a total of 350 native Taiwanese saplings, whose growth will inject new vitality into the health and sustainable development of the ecosystem.
